Shouldn’t "clean energy now" be the only serious spiritual question of our age?

-

If religion is about visions .. shouldn’t we collectively be visualising this and politically and spiritually demanding it .. We have the engineering minds … We have MIT graduates every year .. but they go to work for lockheed to build a new unmanned vehicle(predator drone) to deliver destructive weapons systems .. "tactical to practical" has become the mantra of the trickle down of research to the public sector’s eventual benefits .. But why not "practical" first .. Oil moguls have much at stake .. so much for them to gain by the petroleum tap slowly going dry .. and the profitable shortages and wars …
The technology is discovered! .. No dirty greenhouse byproducts in burning pure hydrogen from hydrogencell technology .. but terrestially gleaning it from natural gas is a big greenhouse emitter (sorry you who misassume it can be derived from ocean water-you are mistaken)..
So where is abundant pure hydrogen to be had? .. In space all around us … Just need a strong space
to start tanking in down .. Shouldn’t the priority of Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus , Bhuddhists and all others be .. to stop our politicians catering to the oil and arms magnates .. and get us clean energy now!
Why can’t stepping into space peacefully to harness resources become tghe priorities of our industries rather than weapons production .. and dirty petrochemical burning for an energy consumption we simply will not wean from?
re: arewethereyet.. okay .. I wouldn’t want to interrupt the happy appocalypse you want to vindicate you ..
Upallnite- so I suppose you never heard of Physicists creating a sanctified environs for a particle collision.. well it happens .. they want to help fellow humans .. their unorthodox conceptions of deity I suppose do not live up to the destruction and vindication you want from a god ..
very good alnitaka.. and truly on trak .. but pure hydrogen is in space my friend .. and all around us ..

Religious folks .. so sorry to upset you .. Isee something that could heal earth’s environment .. and prioritizes us out of weapons and war- and towards being custodial to earth just seems so offensive to many of you .. keep "religion" out of clean energy- anbsurd!
Thanks JediBaptist and SmoothFlo.. some thoughtful answers are appreciated!
Thanks miraclewhip- you rock!
can more be said?..yes..?????
So far alnitaka has a smooth lead though.. reading im a few times- I feel he may even be affirming that the hydrogen is attainable there in space .. but still- this isn’t a chemistry oriented question .. doesn’t anyone see the "spirituality" that could be so inherent to this question?.. what is more sacred than the continuation of our planet and life? … anyone?
re phyllis n: admirable honesty .. well for me "the 100th monkey" is a good example about spreading innovative ideas ..
Personally I believe engineering minds like "alnitaka" above need to see the potentialities .. secondly because we are what we are "socioeconomically" .. financiers will simply need to see the "capital" potentials of such a transformation, to the point of overwhelming the vested interests that would like to keep it as is to our collective ruin .. Ideas are "contageous" tho, and there is always hope.. however fashionable ansgt and nihilism become(they are a few centuries old now)… hope exists nonetheless …

Unfortunately, hydrogen does not exist on this planet, or not at least like oil does. Most of the hydrogen that the Earth ever had escaped because Earth’s gravity can’t hold it. Almost all the hydrogen on the Earth is in the oceans as part of H2O. It is going to be hard to set up a system of using hydrogen, but it probably can be done. Solar-powered electrolysis plants take the hydrogen out of water. Then the hydrogen can be used as fuel. A problem with this is that hydrogen’s molecule is so small that it is hard to find a container to hold it. We may have to weight it down with a bigger molecule, such as carbon atoms, each of which can hold onto 4 hydrogens. But guess what? This is natural gas. We do have a dwindling supply of that, but I suppose electrolysis combined with carbon could produce synthetic natural gas, which is then used as a fuel.

We need to do this as we are running out of oil and other fossil fuels. But it is not going to be easy.

Sovereign

clean energy systemsSovereign by Gray Design

Challenging Traditions
Traditions must be challenged periodically and the 100 meter superyacht, Sovereign, from Gray Design has the daring and wit to be a serious contender. Designed for kings, queens and monarchs, the Sovereign’s strict lines and well appointed detailing place it in a class where only the best is tolerated.
Maintaining only three decks over the entire length of the yacht gives her an extremely low profile by current standards and the echoes of automotive design are deafening. Taking design cues from exclusive limousines and borrowing the style of chauffeur driven carriages give proportions that are both stately and sophisticated while at the same time having an athletic stance that hints at the rapid transitions she makes between marinas.

Clean Energy
The features list is long and several details cannot go unnoticed at first glance. The wind turbine in the mast coupled with the solar panels covering the roof of the yacht supply clean energy for lighting systems and reserve power supplies that can be topped up whenever the sun shines or the wind blows. The retractable cover at the bow of the yacht keeps the area cool and can be raised to form a sun shade over the jacuzzi on a hot day. At the aft end is the infinity pool which can keep water circulating around the reinforced glass helicopter pad for an invigorating swim. Thread lighting around the edges of the pool give a pleasant nighttime illumination to the experience and these lighting features continue along the length of the yacht and past the peak of the pilot house to give a signature illumination when moored offshore. Accommodations feature an excessive owners suite on the top deck which stretch from the aft owners deck through to the bow owners deck including the atrium located under the glasshouse beneath the pilothouse. In addition there are 10 guest suites with provisions including a nightclub, cinema, gym and library.

Classy Club
The beach club on the lower deck maintains the rich detailing of the yacht whose centerpiece is the skylight that looks up through the floor of the helipad. Sculptures inspired by the yacht itself decorate this space and rich fabrics and crystal light fittings continue the theme of elegance and class. It is also equipped with a full wet bar and has bathing platforms on each side that can be folded down for an extremely spacious relaxation area near the water. Through the doors you will find a wet garage where the tender boats are stored and dispatched from within the hull.

Custom Limo
In true Gray Design style, the Sovereign comes with the optional custom built limousine that parks in the garage alongside the seaborne tenders. This can be lifted onto land using the on-board cranes whenever an excursion in style is needed around the port area. Powering this great vessel are three MTU Engines and top speeds are estimated at 30 knots.

Radiant Heat, A Hot Trend

-

The struggle for survival has evolved across centuries from the attainment of basic food, water, and shelter to the ongoing battle of job security, crime, and stability within the home. Constructed through family or neighborly efforts, the four walls and weatherproof roof once considered sufficient shelter is no longer admired in today’s competitive society.

Countless resources and skilled professionals are increasingly available to add beauty, detail, luxury, and exclusivity to the homes of those daring to venture the sea of possibilities and associated costs of time and money. Among this array of possibilities exist products fit to meet the demands for luxury and detail without compromising efficiency, or cost effectiveness. These radiant heat products are highly functional in a variety of applications to upgrade both commercial and residential properties and enhance exterior and interior settings. Whether simply desiring warm, soothing floors or seeking to implement an alternative heat source more efficient in output, radiant heat systems are rapidly setting a standard of excellence in providing both comfort and quality.

Eliminate the shock and discomfort of frigid, hard surface floor coverings through the addition of luxurious radiant heat. These systems are easily installed in new construction developments or remodeling projects, but may also be added to existing floors located above crawl spaces or unfinished basements. Truly innovative, radiant heat products are clean, quiet, and create virtually no floor buildup that could interfere with other phases of construction and the overall appearance of interior details. Equally impressive is the fact that radiant heat elements effectively function in combination with various types of subfloors and an extensive selection of coverings. These proven, high-quality systems have been refined for decades, achieving the goal of transmitting slipper like warmth through tile, hardwood, vinyl, carpet, marble and any other stone varieties. With such versatility, radiant heat allows for flexibility and creativity in the design process of a system exclusive to each distinctive home and the unique individuals who reside within.

Beyond the scope of warm, cozy floors lies the possibility of an entire system of alternative heat through the careful design and installation of radiant heat elements. Effective as a primary heat source, radiant products are safe, more efficient, and cleaner than the forced air systems most commonly found in present-day, homes. The heating elements operate at a low-voltage rate to ensure the safety of the unit, the home, and most importantly, the occupants. The computer operating system carefully monitors temperature and shuts down automatically upon detection of signs of dysfunction. In addition to the guarantee of safety, radiant heat systems efficiently transform all energy consumed into heat that warms floors, furniture, objects, and people all located in the lower portions of each room. The warm air from forced air systems escapes from vents and quickly rises to top of the room, leaving occupants below uncomfortably exposed to uneven temperature distribution and drafts of cold air. Radiant heat units, however, maintain consistent, even warmth, resulting in the ability to comfortably lower thermostat settings and consume less energy. A radiant heat system can provide a valuable source of alternative heat for the environmentally friendly, the budget savvy and those conscientious of safety and efficiency. With energy costs rising and external pressures mounting, allow radiant heat to contribute to the art of making a house a home where reassurance, relief, rest, and relaxation should meet to rejuvenate all who enter.

Bank Bailouts, A Question for people who know about Banking and Economics?

-

Instead of giving Banks massive bailouts numbering in the tens of trillions of dollers, would it have been possible for the US Government as well as other Governments to nationalise the entire Banking System making it an instrument of national government, then pouring those trillions into massive infastructure projects for instance creating ultra-modern transport systems and clean energy?. A bit like FDRs new Deal but on a much larger scale.

The banking system is partly nationalised already, and it’s that part that’s causing the problems. Nationalising can’t fix the problem. If it could, we could just nationalise everything and hey presto: the best possible society. Economically speaking, the idea has been disproved in theory and practice over and over again.

In a market unhampered by government interventions, banks that made loans unbacked by money on deposit (fractional reserve banking), would suffer losses and go broke. They would be replaced by banks who didn’t do it.

The only reason FRB is able to exist, is because government grants the banks the special privilege of making loans unbacked by money. This enables the banks to make profits out of thin air. (The government cartelises the banks for the purpose.) It works by diluting the supply of money with the newly issued money. Everyone pays who uses money – in other words, everyone, – at the rate of inflation. The effect is to siphon money out of your pocket, and channel it to the big banks, who in turn channel it to the big corporations.

Why does the government do this? Because they get a cut of the loot, in the form of many benefits; and for this reason governments are addicted to inflationary finance, like a drug. Firstly it enables the government to print money out of thin air, which it does by issuing treasury bonds (IOUs), which it sells to the banks. These are the "assets" which back the banks newly issued loans, instead of gold. Secondly, it enables the government to channel money to its pet favourites such as the military-industrial complex, or non-creditworthy borrowers (think housing bubble and bust). Thirdly, most people don’t understand what’s going on, and they blame the inflation – the increase in the money supply and increase of prices – on unions, or capitalists, or banks, or anything but what is causing it – government. Fourthly, inflation is a favourite way that governments fund wars, because if they did it by taxation, people would recognise and resent it. It also causes enormous economic and social problems, including economic recessions and depressions, and all the following bankruptices, unemployment and hardship, and then government rushes in, all innocent-like, pretending to be our salvation, with more forced redistributions paid for by inflating the money supply, for example, the bank bailouts.

So no, nationalisation is not the solution, because all it means that government will inflate the currency through a government bank, rather than through a government-licensed bank.

And instead of pouring trillions into banks *or* more government interventions, the solution is to STOP DOING WHAT’S CAUSING THE PROBLEM IN THE FIRST PLACE. If government wasn’t taking those trillions, people are perfectly capable of funding "ultra-modern transport systems and clean energy" all by themselves, if that’s what they want. And if they want something else that they consider more valuable, then that’s as it should be too. Government is not capable of improving on that, because government is made up of these same people. The idea that government can do it better is simply wrong, and ALWAYS ignores the conflict of interest as between government and the people.

If what you were saying were correct, socialism would be possible. No need for private property, or freedom, just have a great big government Department of Everything, and we’d have a great modern society. Sorry, but it’s mistaken.

The solution is simple: the laws against fraud must apply to banking and to government, as much as they apply in all other areas of business, and this means abolishing the Fed which is nothing but institutionalised fraud and is the source of the entire problem. That’s why Ron Paul is saying the Fed should be abolished, and the opposition by Republicans and Democrats only shows either
a) their dishonesty, or
c) their economically ignorant belief in a Santa Claus government that can create net real wealth for society by printing pieces of paper. It can’t.

2 Million Dollar Solar System being installed on Storage Facilities in Nashville Tn.

-

clean energy systemsHere is a video we made for LightWave Solar in Tennessee. Shot in a few hours on a brisk day in December 2011 using one of our reliable Sony HDR FX1′s, and edited the next day on Final Cut X.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Construction is taking place on a solar array atop Mallory Station Storage on Nolensville Road in Nashville, the second largest solar energy project in Nashville. The company is installing solar at each of its four locally-owned storage facilities in Nashville, Brentwood, and Franklin, making this the largest corporate investment in solar energy for both Davidson and Williamson Counties.

Mallory Station Storage’s five solar projects are scheduled to be installed before the end of the year, adding about 2,000 solar panels to Middle Tennessee and a total of 472 kilo-watts of solar energy.

These systems will have a great environmental impact that over the next 25 years will offset emissions of carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide and nitrous oxide, equivalent to planting 3,540 acres of trees or taking 2,360 cars off the road.

A project of this size is costly, totaling approximately $2 million dollars, but Mallory Station Storage Regional Manager Brett Yocum is confident in the investment. The average payback time on the systems is five years, and over its lifetime, the five- system project will generate over $7M in income, based on the price of conventional electricity that is expected to increase each year.

“Clean energy technology is an investment that we’re glad to be making,” said Yocum. “Solar is a low risk, high-return investment that benefits society both environmentally and economically.”

If you enjoyed this video, please give it a thumbs up and make a comment. Thanks VERY much.
